Detection distance can be adjusted via the built-in knob on the unit, with a default factory setting of 5 meters (16.4 ft) for stable performance. When triggered, the alarm will automatically play one full cycle of the selected sound and then stop. The alarm duration depends on the length of the preset audio file.
